I made lots of paper snowflakes back in the day! I will make this to hang across my living room windows. I will use plain printer paper because it's easier to cut. This will make a pretty garland with a string of white lights. Love the idea, and love the chance to make snowflakes again!

I really like how you can customize this idea. You said that you used construction paper. Would this also work with multipurpose paper or with different colored construction paper? I agree that it is a wonderful way to keep kids involved and busy during the holidays. I have wood beams in my home and I am thinking about making a ton of these to hang at various ceiling heights since they are slanted. Thanks for the ideas!

What a great idea, and perfect for keeping children busy. Since every snow flake is different, it will hold their attention long enough to make garland and give you a break! I see this as a family tradition sort of craft...that could carry over from childhood, to adulthood...and on to their children. Awesome idea. Thanks for sharing!
