Choose your favorite design and make this Cupcake Liner Poppy. Straight from the book How to Make 100 Paper Flowers, this DIY paper flower is a gorgeous paper project. Make several of them and create a fun springtime centerpiece, or make them into embellishments for your handmade cards and scrapbook layouts. Start crafting with cupcake liners today, and you will have gorgeous flowers to show for it.

Cupcake Liner Poppy

Materials:

  • Cupcake Liners: Red Dotted or Design of Choice
  • Cupcake Liner: Yellow
  • Crepe Paper: Black
  • Construction Paper: Green
  • Bamboo Skewers
  • Craft Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pinking Shears


Instructions:

1. Flatten three cupcake liners, fold them in half, and then refold again to make quarters.

2. Taper the quarters into rounded petal shapes.

3. Flatten a yellow cupcake liner and form a spiral center. Using pinking shears, cut a small circle from black crepe paper to fit the cupcake base.

4. Open up the three liners from step 2. Layer the three liners, alternating the petals, and glue them together.

5. Add the black circle and the yellow spiral center to form the flower.

6. Cut two leaf shapes from construction paper. Glue the bamboo skewer to the back of the flower. Add the leaves to sandwich the skewer to finish the back.
