Spread awareness and motivate yourself with this beautiful Purple Roses Motivational DIY Wall Decor. Making paper flowers has never been easier than when you use Therm O Web Glitter Dust Deco Frames, which is what you will use for this project. This "Live Hope Breathe" sign is a message for cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that affects the lungs. Though you can use this amazing idea for any motivation you wish to support, the purple roses are particularly representative of this disease. With the frames, you will simply quill the cut strips into stunning roses to decorate your sign.

Materials List

  • Therm O Web Glitter Dust Deco Frames in Purple Scallop
  • Therm O Web Zots Singles Craft Large
  • Therm O Web iCraft® DecoFoil™ in Lilac and Spring Green
  • 12" Foil Laminator
  • Therm O Web iCraft®DecoFoil™ PeelNStick Toner Sheets
  • Therm O Web Zots™
  • Quilling tool
  • Purple chalk and applicator
  • Die Cutting Machine, such as Silhouette Cameo
  • Live Hope Breathe Free Digital Cut File
  • Wooden sign of desired style

Instructions:

  1. Remove the adhesive backing from the Deco Frame and then color it with the chalk. When you create the flower, you will see some of the backside of the frame and having it the same color as the front gives it a more finished look.

  2. After you have colored the backside use your fingers to scrunch and wrinkle the frame. Do not be cautious other than to avoid tearing it.

  3. Cut the frame with your scissors.

  4. Take the quilling tool and roll the scallop piece around tip. Roll it so that it is a slightly loose coil. If you don’t have a quilling tool you can use your fingers to roll it into a coil.

  5. Once it is fully coiled, remove it from the quilling tool and place it firmly on a Zot™ to help hold it together.

  6. Use your fingers (or even tweezers) to gently roll back some of the edges. This will turn it into a beautiful rose!

  7. To finish the roses, I created some mini foiled leaves using a leaf die cut and the new Therm O Web iCraft®DecoFoil™ PeelNStick Toner Sheets. Use more Zots™ as needed to attach the roses to the surface.

  8. To create the motivational phrase, I designed a digital cut file to use with my Silhouette Cameo. I cut the phrase out of the new Therm O Web iCraft® Deco Foil™ PeelNStick Toner Sheets and foiled it using the new Lilac Deco Foil™. Click on the link to download the Live Hope Breathe Digital Cut File for free, cut it out, and adhere it to your sign.
Tip: Use the leftover cut image as a template to help guide the placement of the die cut letters.
