That's a great idea Mistress of All Evil il. Quilling would be lovely to do while we're inside during the summer and it's too warm to have a project like crochet or knitting across laps! This Christmas ornament will have us practicing our basic quilling shapes until we have them down in no time at all. I bet after we've made several of these we might be able to design some different ornaments with the basic shapes too!

I've always liked the look of quilling, but I don't think I realized just how involved the whole process is. This looks like something to try out over the summer when the summer heat has me cowering indoors with nothing to do but watch Netflix.

Paper quilling is a fun and easy paper craft. My students had so much fun learning and making various shapes out of paper. However, the quilling tools are not easy to find in my city. So, providing quilling tools for 10-15 students was a hard job. Then I tried to use a toothpick instead. It worked just fine )

Awesome! I have also tried using various cylindrical objects as quilling tools. Toothpicks are one of the best alternatives. Thanks for sharing! - Krista, editor, AllFreePaperCrafts
