Materials List

  • Petals by Petals Paper Punch
  • Patterned papers
  • Scissors
  • Self-adhesive gems

  1. Fold a piece of cardstock or patterned paper in half and feed into the petal punch at an angle as shown. You will need to be at the edge of the fold to get the right angle with the punch.

Repeat with the smaller petal shape using the same or a different paper. If the paper is too thick, you can punch each wing out individually.

  2. Keeping the largest petal folded, cut off the tip of the curve at the same angle as the fold.

  3. Adhere the two sections of wings together and top with self-adhesive gems to complete.

Butterflies I believe are one of the most versatile embellishments you can create! They can be made in most any color, style, or texture. They can be used to embellish greeting cards, scrapbook layouts, mixed media projects, bookmarks, or banners. I love them because they remind me of the Scripture verses about being a new creation because of how they change through several stages from an egg to butterfly. They're gorgeous creatures and make beautiful embellishments!

These are so beautiful! I love that they seem really easy to make, and yet they have a big style impact.

Incredibly useful! I love adding these butterflies to my cards, scrapbooks, and even as gift toppers.

Very simple and easy!
